Jack's CYMA cm.048s - the Irish smile :D (ENG)

So... Lets see my first attempt to post on English. After many visits from abroad, I decided to write/translate few of my articles to english, because our "friend" the google translator isn't the best choice for the strange hungarian grammar...

Once uppon the time, the m4 maniac Jack bought an old cm.028 AK47S to add a more wider variety of guns in his armory. After of a few Armalite-less games, the time has arrived to grow up and became a real MAN :D so he decided to buy a new AK... ...the mission was simple: it had to be as accurate as ours (cm.050 & cm.048) and had to have the "under-foldable" stock, called the "S" version. I like challenges... a few hours of browsing the hungarian national airsoft forum i have found a used one. It was a back up weapon. Deal was done... ...and my friend was happy.

The cm.048 and cm.050 series are famous their impressive accuracy... and Jack's AK is a good example too, because it shoots only 310fps, which is a little less than a quiet fart of an old mole and has very very good accuracy too. Ours shoots near (!) 400 but Jack the international friend said... "Etio... my gun don't need 400, i want to keep the slight 330mark, it is enough for me"   -alright, thats Jack's rule 

Let's do the serious job after the warm up intro - my job was a total revision and do the necessary service for the used gun + an electronic tune up with my FET modul. 

-The hop up chamber is metal, found  in the new generation cyma AKs and works very well!! The stock barrel has the diameter of 6.05mm and has very good performance.... don't change it if it is not necessary!!!

-The gun runs on a second generation cyma GB (cm.02b). It is a very reliable mechbox, has many    plastic parts but never ever had any malfunction or found a weak point. The motor, as usual, is a high torque one, and can pull the m130 spring too with a good battery. On the standard metal bushings the gears runs smooth (of course after the total reshiming, because the stock one is bad rrrreeeaaaallllllyyy bad). The hungarian MASZ 2010 airsoft rules restricts the power of assault guns to 400fps... ...to reach this you don't need anything just an m100 spring and your gun will shoot around 390-400fps (i did it 5times :D )

spring guide with bearing, metal bushing, steel gears, strong and solid "plastic" piston, pistonhead and cylinderhead.... the copper cylinder wich never has to be replaced :D and the plastic nozzle. The material of the GB is unknown to me but it is reliable too.   O o ooo but the wires ... fuuuuuu ... need to replace it. The gun shoots more civilised with new good quality and low resistant wires. Only a simple O-ring change and the basic service was enough to reach a gentle 330fps. After a few shoot tests the accuracy was still awesome... (from 50m human upper body target hit) Of course the factory grease is awful, need to replace it with some pro-mechanic grease.

But one part of the previous service was realy strange:

-what was the aim of this mod!?! I dont know
A little rubber seal for nothing. The sealing works perfectly without this....! I never did the same.

-and again...... black tape for sealing the cylinder :S hmm... very impressive... i will use "old-styled" thin teflon-tape instead of this.

But after these little problems the mechbox was re-serviced and ready to go. And the MOSFET modul was also installed.

the gun is ready.... only a clever conclusion missing from the post! :)  pros-and-cons etc. etc.... So lets see:

In my team we use Cyma AKs and in comparison with the cm.050 and cm.040 series the cm.048 is the most accurate. The 60m single hit-shot is a standard for them/it. The body of the dude is fully steel excl. the gas block and the front sight block. The laminated wood handguard is very solid and comfortable. The coating is durable and hard to damage. The mechanism and hop system of the gun is reliable and extremely accurate. The only disadvantage of this version of AKs is the loose stock mechanism, which needs a bit of care and some tightening (glue) to make it battle ready :) But a little sad story is the mag-compatibility. With cyma mags it/they run(s) perfectly but the CA mags don't feed properly and beside the good feeding of MAG magazines they always swinging in the magwell like bells in the tower of your favorite church at the end of the road :S

So! EtioPAC conclusion is simple: the new generation of VFC copy CYMA AK-s is must have for AK enthusiasts. The cm.048 series is a perfect china made AK, it doesn't need much service or maintenance. The quality of the parts improved a lot during the years and grant long lifetime for each weapon under 400fps. The craftsmanship in my eyes is 5/5star. It can produce good accuracy in low power configuration too. No wobbling, no service and lifetime problems. If you are before buying a cheaper AK instead of VFC or KA, your best choice is the Cyma against Kalash, JG and APS.
